Welcome

Welcome to the official website of the COLUMBIA RIVER CHAPTER NATIONAL SOCIETY DAUGHTERS OF THE AMERICAN REVOLUTION IN RICHLAND, WASHINGTON.

The Columbia River Chapter NSDAR is made up of approximately seventy women of all ages, from every walk of life.  We enjoy each other’s company and invite you to come and find out what it is like to be a part of "Today's DAR."

Right now, you might find yourself wondering, “What does DAR do?" “As one of the most inclusive genealogical societies in the country, DAR boasts 170,000 members in 3,000 chapters across the United States and internationally. Any woman 18 years or older-regardless of race, religion, or ethnic background-who can prove lineal descent from a patriot of the American Revolution, is eligible for membership.” But that’s not all!

In an article from the "Daughters of the American Revolution Newsletter" (November/December 2010), Susan G. Tillman, National Membership Chairman said, "DAR is a woman's volunteer service organization. From small towns to metropolitan areas, DAR members make a difference in their communities through programs focusing on education, patriotism and historic preservation."

Thank you again for taking time to visit us.  We hope that after you have had a chance to explore our website you will decide to come and visit us in person at one of our regular meetings.  We would love to meet you.
